Midway Church
Coeburn, VA
Loving God, Loving People
This class covers the topics of Baptism, Salvation, Baptism, and
Communion. Along with the Purposes, Targets, Structure and Affiliation of
our church.
This is the basic introduction to the Midway family. In each class we get to
know the folks in our church family and explain why we do what we do.
SECOND STEP CLASS 201-SPIRITUAL MATURITY
We strongly believe you can't be all that God wants you to be without
making some basic commitments. We focus on the 4 basic habits every
Christian needs. Time in God’s word, Prayer, Tithing and Fellowship.
What is the Purpose of this class?
The purpose is the same goal that Epaphras had for the Colossian
Christians. He said, "Colossians 4:12b … that ye may stand perfect and
complete in all the will of God." That's what God wants us to do. He wants
us to grow up. It is God's will that you grow up.
Once you're born into God's family, God wants you to grow up. What does it
mean to be born again? It means to be born into God's family. Just like
you've got a physical birth that gave you the desire to grow physically,
you've had a spiritual birth and God wants you to grow spiritually.
There are a lot of immature Christians, but God says He wants you to grow
up.
THIRD STEP CLASS 301-DISCOVERING MY MINISTRY
Since these classes build on each other, it is best that you first attend
C.L.A.S.S. 101 which is Introduction to Midway Church and C.L.A.S.S. 201
which is Discovering Spiritual Maturity. We are convinced that you must
first be committed to membership in a church family and committed to the
habits for spiritual maturity before you are ready for ministry. Membership
and Maturity are the foundation for Ministry.
Through the SHAPE process, you'll learn how God can use your Spiritual
Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience to minister to others in
need.
In CLASS 101 we said that the Bible teaches that the pastors are the
administers and the people are the ministers. That's the whole Midway
strategy in relation to our structure. It's not the pastor’s job to do the
ministry. The Bible says that it's the pastor’s job as a pastor and teacher to
prepare God's people to do ministry. We consider this class to be
important because in this class we're helping people discover what ministry
is all about.
S.A.L.T- STEWARD'S ADVANCED LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Usually the first Sunday of every month Midway has advanced leadership
training for ministry leaders. All are welcome. It is a great opportunity to
experience the direction of the church.
