Loving God, Loving People
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and
singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people.
And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Midway groups connect people relationally for the purpose of growing in Christ
likeness, loving one another, and contributing to the work of the church, in order
to glorify God and make disciples of all nations.
Groups were an important part of the early church. They were small enough to
allow individual members to minister to one another, use their spiritual gifts, and
be discipled in the teaching of Christ.
These communities were alive and life giving where evangelism could take
place as unchurched people watched a loving and compassionate community in
action. Groups not only built up the church but were vehicles for reaching a lost
world for Christ.
Midway Groups exist to teach truth and develop future leaders who can
shepherd others and disciple them in the faith. 2 Timothy 2:2 And the things
that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to
faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. For this purpose, each
leader, has an apprentice he or she is developing toward greater responsibility
and leadership.
